How does Heavenly Father feel about His Son? First I want to address our emotions before I talk about any intellectual information. How does the Heavenly Father feel about His Son, our Lord, Jesus the Christ? We know from the announcement at Jesus’ baptism that He is “well-pleased.” The two of them have fellowship and […]

Remy, the gourmet chef rat in the movie “Ratatouille,” gives us a delightful parable of healing the human soul from dividedness.
Turkish armies steamrolled eastern Europe in the 15th and 16th centuries, led by large troops beating drums and trumpeting loudly their foregone victory. African drums call up the gods (demons) of their tribes, whipping celebrants into religious, sexual ecstasy. Western Christianity has shied away from the power of drumming, until now. (Some churches still debate the acceptability of guitars in worship! Once we let in the guitars, can drums be far behind?)
WOW, God’s search engine
I am overwhelmed at God’s attention to detail. Putting Jewish symbolism for the Hebrew alphabet together with revelation of how the Son of God became a man to bear sin, take the nails and crush the head of the Serpent, what do we have? The heavenly Father prepared the way for His Son and Jesus could explain how “Moses and all the prophets spoke of Him.” Let us worship Him. Let us trust Him in our details.
Me, Going Forward
We can always change for the better Someone once said, “It is the glory of human beings that they can change; it is the glory of God that He never changes.” We can always go from bad to better to continuous improvement. On the other hand, if God changed, the world would fall apart and […]

Why to Keep Business Cards at Hand
I had heard about a city-wide prayer meeting last Sunday evening which would still give me time to get to work by 9:30 AM. The Holy Spirit prompted me to print off more copies of my business card. Since I am still new to Louisville, I was bound to see people I had never met, so I prayed to make the connections the Lord had in mind.
The Psalmist is swept up by the beauty of the King, who is a warrior, who is a judge, who is a bridegroom. This reveals some of the glories of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Lord God has armies of angels and beloved children all waiting to hear Him speak and execute His Word. Psalm 103 embodies the enthusiasm of heaven and earth fulfilling God’s Word and rejoicing over His mighty acts. I call my blog “When He Speaks” because His Word has given life to me and I want to share my excitement with you.
Psalm 91: An expanded literal translation from the Hebrew:
The one who settles in the shelter offered by the Most High to whomever runs in, will find lodging so close he’ll be under the shadow of The Almighty.
